Price: 4 of 5

Would I repurchase? Okay, I didn’t truly purchase this the first time, but I’d definitely buy it now that I know my $24 would be worth it!

::: The Product :::
Lancôme Courbe Virtuôse is supposed to give you “100° lash curve with divine length all day.”  Virtuôse contains CurlGuard™ forumla which is supposed to lengthen and give 12-hour curl hold.  An eyelash curler effect is thanks in part to the KeepCurl™ brush, and the overall mascara formula is smudge-proof, tear-proof, and easily removeable.

Lancôme Virtuôse is available in brown and black.  There is also another version (Virtuôse Carat) which contains all of the same benefits, but is also available in more colors: Black Carat, Platinum Carat, Copper Carat and Golden Carat.

The tube is slightly curved to mimic the shape of the brush head.  The cap has the product name on it in gold, as well as the signature Lancôme rose.  A full-size tube contains 0.23 oz. (6.5g) of mascara, and measures approximately  5.25″ in length.  It should also be mentioned this mascara is an Allure Readers’ Choice Award Winner (Best in Beauty 2007)!

::: The Ingredients :::
To Be Updated – I cannot find them anywhere!

::: My Experience :::
I switched over to Lancôme Cils Booster XL Lash Primer based on a friend’s recommendation, and I really love it.  Alas, it seemed no matter what mascara I used, my lashes lost their curl as soon as I applied mascara!  I always curl, prime, then use mascara, so this was lost on me.

I heard about the Cosmetics Settlement, and called my local Macy’s to see what the deal was.  I mean, I met the criteria as I knew I used Clinique foundations/powders within the timeframe mentioned, but I wasn’t one of the consumers who brought up the class-action suit.  The Lancôme rep told me that was all I needed to know – that I purchased products from the select companies within the alloted timeframe.  So, I looked over the list of available products, and decided I’d go for a Lancôme mascara.

Based on reviews, Courbe Virtuôse seemed like the type of mascara I was looking for, so I went for it.  I immediately tried it once I got home, and saw that my lashes DID KEEP CURL when used with the Cils Booster XL primer!  YAY!  The color isn’t so much an intense black, but it is dark enough that I would consider it along the lines of a “very black” in a drugstore mascara.  The formula wasn’t wet at all, but it wasn’t so dry that my lashes clumped immediately.  Actually, I haven’t had any clumping at all!  I also haven’t had any smudging or flaking, and my lashes truly do hold a curl – and I wanna say for longer than 12 hours!

Now, as for taking it off… It’s definitely not a PITA, but it’s not as easy as they make it seem IMHO.  My Almay Oil-Free MU Remover works just fine to get it off, and I don’t ever have any residue after washing my face like I do with other mascaras.  Hmmm… Maybe that means it at least removes completely if not easily?

::: Overall :::
To be honest, I can’t really determine if this gives me more length than other mascaras (i.e. Maybelline Lash Stiletto).  I do have length, and my lashes do keep a curl now.  Oh, and my lashes are nice and soft all day too.  While I didn’t actually purchase this initially, I can definitely say it’s worth $24.  I know that’s a lot for a mascara, but at least I know it works… And it’s available for cheap on eBay LOL!

Happy Belated 2009!

Yeah, yeah!  I know I haven’t written in ages.  Truth be told, I haven’t really felt like it because I don’t think anyone truly follows my blog.  Not to mention, I’ve been busy as hell with work, and just wanna veg out when I get home!

I don’t really have much to say.  I do have a few gripes, but I’ll spare you those for now LOL!  Maybe I should make an effort to post more.  Even if just reviews.  I know I’m not trying to be Miss Popular here, or even compete with other blogs.

That being said… I think I’ll go write a review or two now :)
