Lately I find myself reaching for the same polishes over and over. So, I thought it might be a good idea to post my “Top 5 Nail Polishes” as of right now, as well as my “Top 5 Combos”

Sadly this has been discontinued, but I made sure to grab a back up recently. I’ll have to grab another one though just to be doubly sure I don’t run out anytime soon! I especially love layering China Glaze Fairy Dust over it to give Powder Puff a tad more depth. And since it dries fast, it’s a-okay with me if three coats are needed!

On it’s own the polish isn’t much, but layered over the right color, and Fairy Dust is just that! It can make an already gorgeous polish look spectacular, or jazz up a blah polish. Aside from loving to layer this over Revlon Powder Puff, I also love layering it over black creme polishes or a “stark” white to tone it down a tad.

Besides Powder Puff, Lincoln Square Lavender is one of my most reached for polishes. It’s a no-fail go-to color, and it works in all seasons. It made a hit in the office, so I even got my boss into it… We like to call it “Pink Yet Lavender,” which also happens to be the real name of an OPI glitter from the Mariah Carey collection that looks fab layered over it!

If you don’t own this, you need to. It’s one of the most fantastic hot pinks ever made, and you can almost get away with one coat! It dries darker than the bottle color, which is fine because it looks even better to me. I hope this isn’t discontinued because it has already been deemed my “Summer of 2013 Polish” for my toes (yes, I already picked it)!

Words cannot express how absolutely marvelous this polish is! One would think because it’s a pastel it would be a pain to apply, especially given how much of a white base it seemingly has. However, it applied like a dream in just two coats without leaving me any bald spots. Matter of fact, I loved this one so much I left it on for about four days before finally changing it, and that says a lot!
I have other faves, but they’re polishes I generally grab to use together as a combo… Which means I might want to get smart and get some back-ups along with some empty bottles to make some frankens!
