Well, I’m on my second full week of Weight Watchers! I’ve switched from a Monthly Pass to a three-month Online account though… I just don’t have any intentions on getting to a meeting, so why pay the extra for it each month, right?
Anywho! It looks like I’m down to 143 lbs already! It’s definitely a lot easier than it was when I first started. I’m able to plan ahead a lot better, and I almost count backwards on my points. For instance, I KNOW I’m going to have coffee in the morning and at least once at night. Knowing that’s a total of 3 pts., I know I only have 17 left for meals and snacks.
I’ve probably spent a good $100 in the last two weeks on food!!! But that’s okay, because it’s helped obviously! I just worry because with my birthday and eating out, I’m scared! I think I’ll let my 35 weekly points come into play there LOL! No way I can stay under a total of 55 points otherwise in a week!
So, progress has been made, and that makes me happy! I’m not striving to reach my goal by a set date… Just to reach my goal. Hopefully that makes it more attainable for me. Please continue to wish me luck and join me in my weight loss!
So, I joined Weight Watchers on Saturday evening. I figure enough is enough with being unhappy with my body, and being overweight. Yes, I said it, I’m overweight. I might not look it, but I am. I currently weigh 147 lbs., and for my stature, I shouldn’t weigh over 132 lbs. My BMI is 28, which is overweight and only 2 points from being obese. Not cool!
Anywho! Monday, December 28th was Day One for me… And I failed miserably! I’m given 20 points a day, and I get 35 points to squander throughout the week. So, I basically can average out to 25 points a day. At the end of the week, I can swap points from activity towards my food points.
I start Day Two today, and I can hope it’s better than yesterday. Curbing my hunger is going to be hard I think… I just always feel hungry, no matter what! This is where I’m hoping Hungry Girl (Lisa Lillien) will be helpful.
I’ll continue to keep you posted on my progress. Maybe I’ll do a daily post on how I’m doing for at least my first month. I don’t have a specific goal aside from getting my weight down to 115 lbs… BUT! I’d be happy just looking better overall even if the number on the scale didn’t go down a lot. Either way, I can do this! Are you with me?! Wish me luck!!!
Because I don’t know how to just accept something and move on LOL!
I took initiative and went to check out a local gym today. Now, not that I’m miserly or a cheap-ass, but I do prefer to save when I can. Who doesn’t, right?
So, here’s my options:
- $0 enrollment fee and $19.99 a month for a TWO-year contract. However, this membership DOESN’T include three “private” sessions with a trainer.
- $99 enrollment fee and $24.99 a month for a ONE-year contract including 3 “private” sessions
Now, I’m not sure on this, so the guy gets the “general manager.” (I refuse to believe she’s the general manager because she was probably in the 5th grade while I was in my Sophomore year) She offers me $49 enrollment fee and $24.99 a month for a TWO-year contract INCLUDING the 3 training sessions… Again, sounds good, but I’m not buying it just yet.
I get home and start calculating LOL! Here’s the breakdown:
- Option 1 – Overall cost for a TWO-year contract is $480 ($20.00 a month average)
- Option2 – Overall cost for a ONE-year contract is $399 ($33.25 a month average)
- Option 3 – Overall cost for a TWO-year contract is $649 ($27.04 a month average)
So, then I start thinking… The GM said it was $99 for the three private sessions. So, if I add that to Option 1, then it’s only an average of $24.13 a month… Now, my monthly cost is still $20 (not $25)…
And you know what? I still don’t know what I’m going to do LMAO! I think I should go with Option 4, but I need that kick in the ass in my first appointment (and the trainer I met – Jojo – seems like just the chick who could get me in shape)!
I guess I’ll just have to “marinate” on this some and give them my final verdict tomorrow… Either way I go, I’m getting a membership!
I’m not sure if anyone even remembers when I had a separate page on weight loss, which I’ve deleted since. Basically, it came down to the fact that being on Depo caused me to gain 20 lbs! Yes, 20 lbs! I jumped from 125 to 145! I tried to lose the weight, but it didn’t seem to help. I ended up switching to Mirena back in August, and I’m guessing the switch was good.
Somehow, I’ve lost 15 lbs., and I look so much better! I’m not as self-conscious as I was, which is always a plus! I’ve cut out sugar as much as I can… No more soda, no sugar in my coffee, and if I drink a juice or tea, I try to make sure it has natural sugars from fruits or “real” sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.
Though I haven’t made it up to six smaller meals a day, I am eating three smaller meals with at least wosnacks. It’s a start for me. Even if I’m still not where I should be eating-wise, I’m trying hard. I’m watching the carb, sodium, fat & calorie intakes… A newbie on this can only go so far at first! My portions are smaller than before, and it’s taking less to “fill” me up.
I’ve also started some sense of exercise. I had purchased DDR a while ago, and I do that whenever I can – until it starts to hurt my ankles. I’ve been using my stability ball more as well. I hope to go walking nightly sometime soon, and I’ve gotten my Budokon DVD from a friend, so I’ll start that up again soon too.
While it might not seem like much to a fitness guru, or someone who knows anything about diet and nutrition, it’s all a start for me, and I’m happy with the results I’ve received so far. I’m able to fit back into clothes I haven’t been able to wear in well over a year, and my boss even told me I’m looking good and my efforts are paying off.
And as much as I’d LOVE to lose at least another 15 lbs., I’m not pushing for it. I’m slowly getting comfortable with my body again, and even getting down to 125 again would be nice. I know I’ll never look as I did in high school, and if that happens, I’ll be in complete awe LOL! Seriously, I will! Just wish me luck on losing at least 5 more lbs., and toning up. I’ll re-evaluate myself then to see how happy I am
OMFG! I’m so super excited! I’m gonna put myself out here on this one… WAY out there!
I was put back on Depo last November, and over the course of about 6 months, I gained 20 lbs. EW! Yeah, that’s not fun! My doctor said I needed to switch birth control before I ballooned up to 200 lbs., which was quite a frightening thought. So, I ended up switching to Mirena IUD (that’s another story in itself!) back in August. Needless to say, the scale still fluctuates by about 5 lbs., and I haven’t truly lost any weight.
BUT! It’s not the numbers that bother me. It’s the excess here and there I have… Well… I might not has as much excess as I did have a few weeks ago. For S&G I decided to try on a pair of pants I only wore once, and they fit like a damned glove back then. How about they fit and were even ever so slightly loose! Yes!
Of course this prompted me to try on other pants later on when I got home. I mean, if those fit WAY better, then I wanted to know what else fit. Let me tell you, I was on the verge of tears! I was able to fit into my fave pants, as well as my khakis I had gotten this time last year. Those lovely khakis only fit for about two months before the Depo started messing up my weight too!
How exciting is that?! Okay, it might not be as exciting for you as it is for me, but seriously! I just added back like 4-5 pairs of pants to my wardrobe! I have two pairs of pants I purchased from Chadwick’s that never fit, which are a tad closer to fitting… But, I still have a ways to go. That’s the goal then… To fit those pants. Weirdest part about this all? I haven’t even really done much to try to lose any weight! Now, I’m definitely motivated though! YAY ME!!!
