Such a blessing in disguise really… Okay, blatant actually LOL!
For those who didn’t know, which is probably just about everyone out there, I recently quit smoking. I’ve been “clean” for a little over a week now, and I think for once in my life it’s going to stick. I’ve tried IDK how many times in the past, and it never once did I stick to it… So pray for me it sticks this time!
ANYWHO! As a celebration of my efforts, I took a retail therapy trip to Bath & Body Works LOL! I got myself Night-Blooming Jasmine Body Splash & Body Cream, White Tea & Ginger Body Splash & Body Cream, foot file, Passionfruit & Guava Wallflower & refills… And all for $25.92 with tax! Gotta love the semi-annual sale combined with coupons! Retail, everything was about $81 with tax, but I saved like $55! SWEET! Debating on another order before the week is out and the sale is over… I really shouldn’t though LOL!
And then I went to dinner and drinks with a friend. It totally wasn’t in the plan when we went to B&BW, but it’s nice that I went. I actually enjoyed myself. The food was good, and the margarita was PERFECT! Just what the doctor ordered… Okay, that was self-prescribed LMAO! So, yeah… Retail therapy is G-O-O-D! LOL!
Can I never make up my mind? Especially when something is limited edition (LE), and I wait so damned long I miss out?
Thankfully, that’s not the case ATM. I’ve been avidly using Philosophy Amazing Grace EDP for a little over a year now. At one time I was a perfume whore, until I listened to my aunt and decided to stick with a “signature” scent. I’m thinking this is impossible for me because if I follow my nose, I stray from AG.
That is what leads me to my current woe. I guess you could almost say I’m kinda sick of AG lately. So, I finally decided to cave and give Aquolina Pink Sugar a try. Granted, I got the dupe by Luxe called Pink Paradise. It’s heavenly! Now, at the same time, I’ve been jonesing to buy B&BW Sweet Pea EDT. My good friend Aprill sent me some, and John actually prefers it over AG and the PS dupe! Grrrrr!
Maybe I should just get a good dupe of PS in a perfume roll-on, and use that in rotation with B&BW Sweet Pea? I mean, that seems logical, right? I can always swap out my Philosophy AG, especially since it’s still like a half bottle of the Cologne Spray (which IMHO is stronger than the EDP).
You see! I can’t make up my damned mind! It’s such a curse! Like I said though, at least this isn’t like I’m debating on anything LE, and I’m just doomed to miss out!
And I’m sure there will be a lot more as there’s already been a bit LOL! Today has basically been a calm day. Nothing too exciting. I did go get a relaxer touch-up, which I’ve desperately needed for a LONG time now. I actually, for the first time in years, dared to let scissors near my hair for more than a trim! I got myself semi-long sideswept bangs. I like them too. We really just framed my face, but added a tad more towards bangs too. Did that make sense? I really do like it, and might delve into a slightly deeper bang cut when I go back in January. We’ll see!
I’m surprised I didn’t head into B&BW while I was at the mall. I was tempted since Signature Collection items are BOGO 50% off. I could’ve gotten my Vanilla Bean Noel, and some Sweet Pea. Especially since I have that $10 off a $30 purchase! While kinda makes me wonder if I shouldn’t ask for a B&BW GC for X-Mas or my birthday so I can get it then. At the same time, I want a Macy’s or Sephora GC so I can either get the two MSFs I want from M.A.C., or my mascara primer and MMU from Sephora. I reckon we’ll see what happens!
String me up by my toes upside down and flog me! LOL! So, while I do love the scent of B&BW Winter Candy Apple, I think the base note of musk is too much for my nose. But let me tell you, those scents LAST! I put some of the lotion on last night before bed, and I can’t even remember how many times I washed my hands since, but they still smelled like the lotion and I hadn’t even reapplied it!
So, why did I lie? Well… I think I DO like the Vanilla Bean Noel more! While it’s definitely a sugar cookie scent, it’s also a very comforting scent. Oh! I know! It’s more like Snickerdoodles than sugar cookies! And Snickerdoodles are a fave cookie of mine! That does it! VBN is now a keeper! TG I can get the scent year-round from Mad City Sue… At least I hope so! Time to check on that one…
So, I REALLY wanted OPI “Sheer” Your Toys from the new Holiday 2008 (Toyland) collection. Alas, I didn’t feel like waiting on 8ty8Beauty to send it, and Head2ToeBeauty doesn’t have them yet. Only one salon, ONE, in the entire Capital District carried them, and luckily they still had the color I wanted! And to boot, I happened to have a 30% off coupon I received in the mail today! How awesome is that?! Oh, and they happened to be the SOLE SALON to carry NailTek too… WTF is up with this crap?!
Alas, I get to the store, and I almost got myself another color from the OPI France Collection, but I behaved and didn’t. All I left with was the NailTek Foundation II Ridge Filler, OPI “Sheer” Your Toys, and Seche French Guides (strips to assist with homemade French manicures).
Then, since it’s my MIL’s birthday tomorrow, I used my coupon for $10 off a purchase of $30+ to get her a Moonlight Path gift set with shower gel, body lotion and body splash. I needed $5 more to get to $30, so I bought myself a set of mini LE holiday body lotions (Twisted Peppermint, Winter Candy Apple & Vanilla Bean Noel). Oh, and even better! I happened to have a coupon for a free Signature Collection hand soap, so I got the LE Winter Candy Apple Moisturizing Hand Soap. AWESOMENESS!
I must say, I never understood the fanatical appeal of VBN, but after smelling it, it reminds me a lot of fresh sugar cookies! Nice, but not something I think I could stand daily. I do, however, enjoy this Winter Candy Apple! I miss the good ol’ Country Apple scent B&BW carried, so this is nice. I might have to stock up or something so I can make it through the year LOL! I think the $10 tube of body lotion will do. LOL!
So, my total savings for today? A whopping $21.12 with the free soap, which retails for $5. Ya know, I might need to get myself two of the Winter Candy Apple hand caddies with the soap and lotion since they’re $15 each, and I got another $10 off $30 coupon. Lovin’ this! Gotta love a good deal, right?!
Oh, and as for the polish… I’m seriously thinking I might use “Sheer” Your Toys as a French manicure with OPI Black Onyx! I just tried it, and really liked it!
