Best at home anti-aging devices

Everyone wants to look younger, but not everyone has the time or money to pay for professional anti-aging treatments.

Many of my articles focus on the ongoing rise of DIY products, especially those having to do with anti-aging. This article covers a few of the best at home anti-aging devices, including the Tria age-defying laser and the Silk’n FaceFX.

Keep reading to learn how you can get a non-surgical facelift on your schedule, in the privacy of your own home!

Tria Beauty Age-Defying Laser

TriaGet it for $495 on Amazon.

The Tria anti-aging laser puts anti-aging in your hands. Tria’s laser technology is FDA-cleared and non-ablative. The type of laser used in this device is the same technology used in professional treatments.

Tria is virtually the only laser for face approved for home use.

The laser utilizes a “fractional laser” that treats several signs of aging at once.

How it works: targeted beams of light penetrate the skin, where they stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin. This healing process naturally diminishes wrinkles and imperfections. Treatment feels warm but is not painful.

Expect the following benefits in as few as two weeks:

  • Younger looking skin
  • Restored luminosity
  • Diminished wrinkles
  • Improved tone and smoothness
  • Refreshed appearance

Suggested use is 5x per week for 12 weeks.

Make sure to wash your skin before you start. After treatment, nourish your skin with a serum or moisturizer. Tria sells a “priming cleanser,” a “finishing serum,” and a “super C brightening moisturizer” to be used with this product. With the price of each tube ranging from $35-$65, however, I’d find cheaper alternatives or stick with products you already use.

What do users think?

Based on reviews, this product is easy to use. The Tria laser is a cordless, handheld tool weighing just 2.2 pounds.

Several users complained that the highest setting was too painful.

Overall, this device seems best for improving fines lines and the complexion in general. It is not typically effective on deep wrinkles or sagging skin.

Important Notes:

  1. Make sure to use as directed to avoid injury.
  2. The Tria age-defying laser is not intended for use on the neck or hands.
  3. Tria also sells an anti-aging product designed specifically for wrinkles around the eyes. It’s called the “Age-Defying Eye Wrinkles Correcting Laser.” You can get it for $150 on Amazon.

Silk’n FaceFX Anti-Aging Device

FaceFX-minGet it for $99.99 on Amazon.

If you can’t afford the Tria, I would recommend checking out the Silk’n FaceFX – another handheld anti-aging tool that promises to reduce wrinkles by stimulating the production of collagen.

The major difference between FaceFX and Tria product (other than price) is that this one does not use an actual laser. Instead, FaceFX uses a combination of deep dermal heating and fractional red light therapy to stimulate collagen production.

Unlike the rechargeable Tria laser, FaceFX operates while plugged into the wall. The FaceFX device weighs 1.3 pounds.

Benefits of regular use include:

  • Reduced pore size
  • Brightened complexion
  • Improved texture
  • Diminished wrinkles

How it works: FaceFX penetrates the skin with a combination of home fractional (HF) technology and a 645nm red LED (light-emitting diode). The effect targets the top layer of the skin.

According to an 8-week clinical trial:

  • 78% of users noticed a reduction in pore size
  • 69% of users noticed an improvement in fine lines/wrinkles
  • 91% noticed an improvement in skin texture

Suggested use is 3x per week for the first month and once per week after that. According to the manufacturer, you should start to notice results within the first 3-7 weeks of use.

What do users think?

Overall, treatments with the FaceFX device are less painful than with the Tria. You don’t get that “sunburned” look after using the FaceFX. According to the manufacturer, you can apply makeup directly after use.

Users report this product is easy to use and is particularly effective with regards to puffiness and wrinkles beneath the eyes. Men and women report looking “refreshed” and “younger” after a few weeks of regular use.

Important Notes:

  1. Silk’n can be used on the hands, chest, and neck as well as the face.

Radio Frequency

Radio Frequency (RF) is another non-invasive method used to fight the signs of aging. It can’t burn your skin like a laser can, and is better suited for sagging skin (such as the neck).

How it works: RF devices use gentle radio waves to heat subcutaneous tissues (penetrating much deeper than an LED light or laser).

From there, the theory is the same: the body produces collagen and that collagen smoothes away wrinkles.

Tripollar Stop – Radio Frequency Facial Skin Tightening Machine

Best skin tightening machine for home use

Tripollar StopGet it for $409 on Amazon.

The Tripollar Stop is your best bet if you’re looking to tighten up sagging skin on the neck.

Suggested treatment is 2-3x per week for at least 8 weeks. Maintain results by continuing treatment once per week.

The Tripollar Stop requires the use of “preparation gel.” This is included with your original purchase. The gel protects the outer layer of skin and works with the electrodes on the device to deliver energy deep into the skin.

The product features an orange light that will instruct you when to move on to the next area. Users agree that treatments are relaxing and painless.

Important notes:

  1. You can use the Tripollar Stop on the face, hands, and neck.
  2. Device weighs 5.4 ounces.
  3. Those who should not use Tripollar Stop include: pregnant women; people recovering from surgery; people with AIDS, cancer, and cardiac disease; and people prone to developing herpes simplex sores.

The manufacturer claims users will see results in just 5 treatments.
