Lots of women out there want larger breasts, but few of them want to undergo surgery – not to mention how expensive quality “boob jobs” can be. Although the following methods won’t give you dramatically bigger breasts, there are lots of alternative, painless ways to subtly increase breast size. You don’t have to have double D’s to get that delicate, sexy cleavage most women only dream of. Did you know that you can actually create the appearance of contour with makeup? Start by washing the area and patting dry with a towel. Next, use a fan brush to apply bronzer. Stat at the point of the “V” shape between your breasts and work up. Look in the mirror while you work – not down at what you’re doing.

For a more dramatic effect, apply the matte face powder along the outside edge of the “V” as well.
Hit the Gym
Although working out and losing weight sometimes causes breasts to shrink, there are specific exercises you can do to give your breasts a boost. The following exercises will strengthen your pectorals and inner chest to improve cleavage and perkiness. We recommend going through the following exercises at least three times each week. When you work out, do two sets of fifteen repetitions.
- Dumbbell chest press (incline): Lying on your back on an incline, place your feet on the ground. Hold your arms shoulder-width apart with a weight in each hand at a 90-degree angle. The weights should be level with your shoulders. Lift the dumbbells above you and touch the sides together. Lower the dumbbells to the original position (you should feel some stretching here).
- Pec deck: A machine found in every gym, this is the one where you sit down and push your forearms towards each other while your arms are at a 90-degree angle. If you don’t have a gym to go to, you can do the same exercise with dumbbells.
Strengthening the muscles in your shoulders and back makes it easier to maintain good posture – did you know that good posture can make your breasts look bigger? Check out the following exercises:
- Y Rise: With a weight in each hand, stand with your feet below your shoulders. Lift the dumbbells in front of you and then above your head (creating a “Y”). This should be a smooth and controlled motion. Concentrate on keeping a firm core and then return the dumbbells to the starting position.
- Renegade Row: With a weight in each hand, act as if you are about to do a push-up. Keep your arms straight and your hips in place. Lift one weight from ground to chest, making sure your elbow is tucked into your torso. Lower the weight to the floor and repeat with the other arm.
On the flipside, one surefire way to increase your breast size is to gain weight. If you’re skinny, gaining a few pounds might just fill out your breasts. “Boob Job” by Rodial Skincare is a cream that is said to enlarge breasts by increasing the number of fat cells in the area. The effectiveness of this creams is questionable, with reviews being split 50/50. At $150 per bottle, this isn’t a realistic option for all of us. There are similar creams out there that help maintain tone and firmness, but won’t add size.
A newer and more complex product (see image), the BRAVA Breast Enhancement and Shaping System is said to encourage tissue growth. The idea is that sustained tension encourages tissue growth (known as the “tissue expansion” principle). When a woman wears the BRAVA device, her breasts undergo a gentle pull in three dimensions. The body reacts by creating more tissue which in time results in larger breasts.
The company recommends wearing the device, which is held in place by a sports bra, for 10 hours each day. The device is made up of two domes (that are placed over the breasts) and a “mini computer” that sits between the breasts, tracking progress and regulating pressure. Women who stick with the program gain between half and two cup sizes. The company recommends wearing the device for 10-14 weeks for best results. You can aesthetically go up at least one cup size with the right bra. Victoria’s Secret has some great options. And make sure you’re wearing the right size. Wearing a bra that is too small or too large can ruin the look of your breasts. Wearing clothes that accentuate your breasts along with the perfect bra can produce amazing results.
There are many mediations out there that list an increase in breast size as a side effect. However, none of the following medications should be taken for this purpose only as there are lots of other side effects to worry about.
Birth Control: If you’re interested in preventing pregnancy and want a little boost in your breasts, birth control is an option. Keep in mind there are other side effects like mood swings, breast tenderness, depression, headaches, and weight gain. You must see a doctor to start taking birth control pills.
Progesterone Therapy: Mainly prescribed for women taking estrogen, this naturally-produced hormone can also contribute to weight gain, depression, vaginal irritation, hair growth, and acne as well as an increase in breast size.
Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI’s): These are antidepressants with side effects including headache, difficulty sleeping, decreased sex drive, nausea, and drowsiness in addition to an increase in breast size.
The Holistic Approach
There are a few herbs out there (listed below) said to increase breast size, but be careful. Eating or drinking too much of any one thing can mess up your body’s balance of vitamins and minerals as well as produce negative effects when combined with any medicine you might be taking. Speak to your doctor if you are considering taking any herbs or supplements.

- Black cohosh
