SkinClinical is not your average skincare line.
Founded by world-famous cosmetic surgeon Harry Glassman, the SkinClinical product line features patented, effective ingredients from nature and science that offer medical-strength solutions to the average consumer – no prescription needed.
At the heart of Dr. Glassman’s formulas is SBD-4, a patented ingredient clinically proven to reduce the visible signs of aging by promoting natural cell regeneration, boosting collagen production, improving hydration, increasing elasticity and thickness, and improving texture and tone.
SBD-4 comes from the roots of the Angelica sinensis flower, a plant that grows in the mountains of Japan, China, and Korea.
The plant’s gorgon-like roots (image at left) have been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years.
SkinClinical’s products are the only lotions on the market to contain SBD-4.
Extreme Healing Products
The following two products were designed to treat complex skin problems including eczema and psoriasis as well as skin troubles brought on by diabetes and chemotherapy.
Both products have earned the “Seal of Acceptance” award from the National Eczema Association.
1. SkinClinical Extreme Healing Daily Treatment Lotion
This lotion is designed for men and women with seriously dry skin. The patented SkinClinical formula promises to improve oxidation, hydration, and microcirculation without leaving a sticky residue.
This lotion is great for:
• Very dry skin and superficial wounds
• Post-tattoo care
• Hand-Foot syndrome
• Chapped hands from gardening, hand washing, cold weather, etc.
• Skin conditions associated with radiation therapy and laser treatments
• Itchiness and redness caused by psoriasis, eczema, environmental exposure, diabetes, and light skin peels
Extreme Healing Daily Treatment Lotion utilizes SBD-4 to fight the signs of aging and encourage the skin’s natural regenerative processes.
This gentle formula does not contain parabens, fragrances, dyes, or steroids. You can purchase an 8oz. bottle on Amazon for $39.
According to a consumer perception study conducted by SkinClinical, 100% of users noticed an immediate improvement in smoothness, texture, radiance, and hydration.
At least 90% of consumers noticed improvements in crepey, damaged, and rough skin as well as an increase in skin firmness.
Amazon reviewers gave this product 3.9 out of 5 stars.
Users agree this is an “intense” healing formula that is great for use on tricky areas like dry, cracked heels and the skin around your fingernails. It can also help to prevent pressure sores in individuals who are confined to beds or wheelchairs.
This lotion is perfect for use in cold, dry climates and is appropriate for users with sensitive skin. The formula is not greasy or oily like many similar products (think Vaseline).
Users noticed results after just 2-3 applications.
Some customers complained that the lotion smelled bad; others thought it was too expensive.
2. SkinClinical Extreme Healing Repair Concentrate
This concentrated formula is designed to treat skin problems by speeding healing and recovery in target areas.
Like the first product, SkinClinical’s Extreme Healing Repair Concentrate is designed to counter the effects of skin troubles brought on by conditions and treatments including psoriasis, eczema, diabetes, and chemotherapy.
This formula is also appropriate for post-chemical peel and post-tattoo care.
Like its lotion counterpart, the concentrate version also contains Dr. Glassman’s patented SBD-4 – an ingredient that is clinically proven to boost your cells’ own regenerative processes.
It is able to penetrate the skin to restore a healthy, more youthful appearance without leaving any stickiness behind.
This gentle formula does not contain parabens, dyes, fragrances, or steroids. The only major difference between this product and the first is that this formula offers a higher concentration of active ingredients for maximum healing and is designed to be used on smaller areas. You can purchase a 3oz. bottle on Amazon for $25.
Users agree that SkinClinical’s concentrated formula is a great option for men and women struggling with eczema. They call it the “go to” cream for eczema and say it is more effective than acupuncture and steroid creams.
Amazon reviewers gave this product 4.1 out of 5 stars.
This ointment is perfect for cold winters and works wonders for Hand-Foot syndrome (caused by chemotherapy).
Consumers report instant relief from dryness and itchiness, and note that this product beats out greasy competitors (like Vaseline and Aquaphor) than can stain your clothing and sheets.
Those who disliked this product complained that it did not provide the hydration benefits they were expecting; others through it was too expensive.
1. Aquaphor Healing Ointment
This ointment is designed for chapped lips, cracked skin and cuticles, and dry feet and hands. The formula features glycerin, panthenol, and 41% petroleum – so expect it to be a little greasy.
Users agree that Aquaphor is appropriate for post-tattoo, post-radiation, and post-chemotherapy skin care. It also works for eczema and diaper rash.
A little of this goes a long way, so you won’t use it up fast. And its gentle formula won’t both sensitive skin.
Some users report using it on their dogs when they develop dry skin around their nostrils.
Users noticed improvements in 10 days or less.
You can purchase a quarter-ounce jar of Aquaphor on Amazon for $20.09. Other than the difference in price, Aquaphor differs from SkinClinical’s lotions in that it can be used on the lips as well as the skin.
2. Vermont’s Original Bag Balm
Bag Balm is a multi-purpose ointment that has been around since 1899. It was originally designed for use on cow udders.
Bag Balm is a favorite among veterinarians, but is also a great option for treating chapped and irritated skin on humans. This product is available in farm stores and drug stores. Amazon sells an 8oz. jar for just $10.51, making it the cheapest option on our list.
The gentle formula contains petrolatum, lanolin, and 0.3% 8-Hydroxyquinoline Sulfate (used as an antiseptic). Users say it won’t irritate sensitive skin.
Reviewers say this ointment is great for:
• Runners who experience cracked feet and thigh chaffing.
• Cold winters
• Quilters’ fingers
• Bee stings
• Chapped lips
Some users complained that the ointment has a nasty smell and advised using gloves when applying. This product contains sulfates.
